On July 17, Hugo-award winning author Mary Robinette Kowal, penned a piece for the New York Times entitled, “To Make It to the Moon, Women Have to Escape Earth’s Gender Bias.” In it, Kowal argued that, “If we do not acknowledge the gender bias of the early space program, it becomes difficult to move past it.”
Apparently, this piece generated quite a lot of conversation and commentary regarding the supposed difficulties that women have urinating in the zero gravity environment of space.
